There are symbols found in the human unconscious that mean similar things to all of us. By understanding these symbols, it is possible to analyze our dreams and to learn from them. In one life-changing lucid dream, David was able to interact consciously within the dream. As the observer of the Inner Self-within the dream a life and death struggle took place between David and a monster if the Id. In the event, David fought and vanquished a LSE (Life-force Sucking Entity).
An event that altered his awake reality forever. At first this seemed shocking, even impossible, since psychology normally alludes to such theoretical inner aspects as the Subliminal Self, the Center, the Internal Self-Helper in vague and theoretical ways.
But, in the understood dream state, one has both a psycho/spiritual tool and a platform from which to understand dreaming and the larger picture of our deepest psyche. David's first-hand experience, and his clear recognition that, instead of seeking to control and manipulate our dreams, we should use the gift of Awareness & lucidity to navigate a deeper reality and grow into connection with a deeper and wiser self.
David explains that "In a larger context we must learn form ourselves, that which no other person can reveal to us." The dream world also commonly serves to bring to the conscious mind some moral or religious lessons to the experiencer - a lesson that we would otherwise be unaware of, but one that will influence real life decisions made regarding them. Often the question arises as to what exactly constitutes reality due to the vivid recollection and experiences of the dream world.
