Choosing Your Academy |
The Australian Academy of Hypnosis has a very flexible way for you to learn hypnosis. You can simply complete our (non Government accredited) Practitioner Training and receive a Certificate from the academy allowing you to practice. Our training is available in classroom or online.
You can then go on to complete a counselling module via home study with Career Accelerators which is a division of The Aromatherapy College of Australia. This is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). You can then apply for associate membership into The Australian Hypnosis Association giving you peak body recognition.
Career Accelerators offers a fully Government Accredited Certificate IV or Diploma of Clinical Hypnotherapy. For those completing the practitioner training with the Australian Academy of Hypnosis, you may upgrade to either of these qualifications by choosing to complete the other required modules via distance learning through the RTO for either the Cert IV or the full Diploma and will receive recognised prior learning for the practitioner training. The reverse applies and you can commence studies via distance learning and plan for the face to face practitioner training. Contact : Gwen Ford on 1300 13 14 72. Email cad@acoa.com.au.

2. Does the academy have a training history?
The Australian Academy of Hypnosis has been training hypnotists since 1996.
3. Does the trainer have a passion for hypnosis? Are they well known and respected in their field? Have they had "Hands On Experience" in all aspects of hypnosis?
Rick Collingwood has 12 years of experience in the field of clinical and therapeutic hypnosis. During the last seven years he has trained more than 200 people in the effective use of skills of hypnosis. He has released three series of hypnosis CDs, conducted many group hypnosis seminars with attendance's of up to 780 people. He has appeared on A Current Affair, CH7, CH9, CH10 News and numerous television and radio programs.
4. Does the training curriculum contain a significant amount of actual supervised inductions with the student being the hypnotist and also the hypnotic subject?
Surprisingly many hypnosis training organisations offer very little practical induction training to their students. Hypnosis is learned by familiarity.
You Cannot Learn Hypnosis By Reading Books. You Learn Only Hypnosis By Performing Hypnosis!!!!!
There are many hypnosis training organisations that teach only by the book. Although the academy places a high value on the academic and historical aspects of hypnosis, the curriculum is significantly orientated to doing of hypnosis. For this reason once you initial five day training is completed you have the advantages of membership into a strong hypnosis society, endless ongoing supervised induction practice, and the opportunity to undertake further advanced hypnosis studies.

5. Do your fees include grading costs and all required materials?
The Australian Academy of Hypnosis training materials are all included
in out low fee structure : They Include
- Academy Training Video, featuring three actual in clinic full hypnosis sessions and eight instant and rapid inductions, all explained and demonstrated.
- Two 150 page, professionally presented, training manuals containing all the vital information you need to know, including full texts for more than twenty different hypnotic inductions.
- Training text books
- All self assessments and examination markings.
- Telephone help.
6. Can or will your trainer hypnotise you?
It is astonishing how many hypnosis trainers will not actually demonstrate their proclaimed hypnosis skills and hypnotise a student, let alone demonstrate the skills and expertise required to induce an effective instant or rapid induction. It is the opinion of Rick Collingwood and The Australian Academy of Hypnosis that this does not demonstrate hypnotic expertise, so therefore the training will at best create only average hypnotists.
Here Is A Simple Test
Ask your potential trainer to hypnotise you, if they either will not or cannot, then it is only sensible that you look elsewhere. The Australian Academy of Hypnosis has no objection to inducing hypnosis in any potential student before they commit to our training.
7. Is the training organisation Australian?
