Rick Collingwood is one of the world's leading professional clinical therapeutic hypnotists. He is an internationally renowned Hypnosis Trainer, Author, Counsellor, Public Speaker, Sales Motivator, Corporate Speaker, and the founder of Mind Motivations™ & The Australian Academy of Hypnosis™. Rick is also on the committee of The Council of Clinical Hypnotherapists. Australia’s most progressive and prestigious national hypnosis association.
Since 1995 Rick has personally assisted countless thousands of people, using his own unique therapeutic hypnosis techniques. His client list includes Sales Motivators, Commercial Airline Pilots, Psychologists, Medical Professionals, Business People, Home makers and Children. People from all walks of life, facing challenges such as stress disorders, nicotine and drug dependency, gambling, addiction, pain management, depression, panic disorder, insomnia, motivation, chronic fatigue syndrome, and many other various behavioral challenges.
He has also conducted group hypnosis sessions with attendances of almost 1000 people, and assisted many top international sports people to achieve their maximum potential, including Boxers, Race Car Drivers, Swimmers, Rowers, and the world champion cyclist Levi Leipheimer from Lance Armstrongs ASTANA racing team who just won the US AMGEN tour for the 3rd time in succession. Rick has extensive knowledge of all aspects of all styles of hypnosis, combined with his many years of practical experience. He continuously demonstrates that the effectiveness of his hypnosis and sub-conscious counselling skills are unequalled by many other hypnosis methods and hybrids.
During the past decade Rick has become recognised as one of Australia’s leading hypnosis researchers and trainers. He developed his own unique hypnosis skills from a combination of traditional hypnosis and his vast knowledge of the direct and rapid hypnosis methods used by the real hypnotists of the past. Adapting those techniques to blend into a powerful new therapeutic model.
Rick developed the increasingly popular “Hypnosis Field Therapy™”, a hypnosis technique that quickly gets to the core of any personal habit, emotional issue, and physical or mental health concern and pleasantly releases or re balances it within the mind. The special advanced techniques used and applied in “Hypnosis Field Therapy™” were developed and used in Rick’s, “Hypnosis & Improvement in The Quality Of Life” cancer research conducted in 2005. Since that time those techniques which produced such positive results for the participants have been further developed during thousands of hours of clinical experiments and research. “Hypnosis Field Therapy™” is at the new frontier of hypnosis; its cutting edge hypnosis techniques, combined with years of clinical expertise are a Quantum Leap beyond the often semi effective relaxation and visualistaion techniques used by many of today’s hypnotherapists.
He has appeared as an invited guest in many major newspapers, on national and international radio and television, including twice on Channel 9s "A Current Affair" and Kerri Anne Kennerley, Channel 7s "Today Tonight", Channel 10’s 9AM with David & Kim, Optus Vision, Bris 31, and the ABC. Rick has also featured internationally on Good Morning America. KTLA and the NBC News and numerous US radio shows, including among others The Adam Carolla show and Valentine 98.3fm. The Joey Reynolds Radio Show WOR New York, The Mancow Radio Show Chicago, Bulldog Radio Show IRIE Ocean City Maryland, KDKE Radio Phoenix Arizona, Sirius Playboy Radio LA, Barbra Alexander Good Health Radio, Moneydots Radio.com, Radio WMT600 Cedar Rapids Iowa. Between November 2008 and January 2009, Rick appeared on many national U.K. radio shows and in many newspaper and magazine articles.
Rick is acknowledged as one of the world’s most skilled professional hypnotists and hypnosis trainers. He is the principle of The Australian Academy of Hypnosis and has trained more than 1,000 therapists in the correct and effective use of his unique therapeutic hypnosis styles.
In 2006 Rick’s Lose Weight Now CD became the only hypnosis CD ever in the world to win a Gold Aria Award and in August 2008 it went platinum as did his incredibly successful Quit Smoking Now CD, whilst the Mind-Body Healing, Stress Management, Happiness & Self Esteem, and Beat Insomnia CDs all went gold. A truly remarkable feat that makes Rick one of the top hypnotists in the world today. Between January 2002 and October 2008 "The Life Improvement Series" has sold almost 600,000 copies all over the world.
In 2005, in conjunction with a Pharmacist colleague, Mr. Nathan Elliott, Rick conducted Australia's first monitored clinical study to evaluate improvements in the quality of life, using hypnosis as an adjunct to conventional medical treatments. The participants of the trial were nine, medical doctor referred and monitored, volunteers suffering various types of cancers at various stages of progression. Both the Clinical and the experiential results were very positive and ethics approval is being sought to conduct a much larger study (all study participants were signed into the trail and monitored independently by their Medical Doctors).

After five years of training with Rick and learning all of the facets of the training curriculum of The Australian Academy of Hypnosis™. John is now the Principal of The Western Australian division of The Australian Academy of Hypnosis™ and he conducts the significant amount of training in Western Australia.
John is a talented and versatile hypnotherapist who practices clinical hypnosis from his busy Perth clinic. He was born and raised in Perth, Western Australia and is a WA practitioner member of the CCH.
John enjoys a very active professional and social life and his interested include music, the arts, philosophy, frequencies, human behaviour, natural health, hypnosis, magnetism, and playing basketball, and is rather well known and appreciated in certain circles for his excellent beer brewing and alcohol distilling skills.
Endowed with a strong sense of self, John resonates a caring, friendly, and charismatic personality to all and sundry. He is also possessed with a natural and energetic zest for life. After completing a BA in Philosophy at UWA and not really knowing what he wanted to do, he did, however know what he didn't want to do, so he took a year off and travelled to London and Europe.
After much ruminating, John decided that he wanted to pursue a career in the helping and human endeavour professions. So he studied and completed accredited training in massage and Bowen Therapy before, through a mutual acquiantance, he met Rick Collingwood, principal of The Australian Academy of Hypnosis™.
John completed his "Certificate of Hypnosis" with the academy in 2002, after which time he began to include Clinical Hypnotherapy as an additional or complementary modality to his Bowen Therapy. Finding that he had a natural talent for inducing hypnosis and using it with great effect in a clinical situation, John then completed his " Certificate of Advanced Hypnosis" in 2004.
The passion John has for hypnosis and the skills he developed for using it were quickly noticed by Rick, and in February 2005 he became Rick’s understudy and assistant trainer. After five years of personal instruction from Rick on all aspects of the academies various training levels and courses, in July 2008 John became the Western Australian Licensee and Principle of the academy. John enjoys his professional practice and the satisfaction that comes with the ability to help others walk a smoother and more comfortable path. He also revels in training hypnosis, especially the old direct styles and rapid inductions, and looks forward with positive anticipation to the future of hypnosis in Australia as an equally recognised and respected clinical health and healing modality.

Michael is a qualified hypnotist and, along with his wife, operates a busy clinical hypnotherapy practice in North Perth WA. He completed his hypnosis training and advanced training with Rick Collingwood at The Australian Academy of Hypnosis™. Already an experienced trainer having lectured extensively while serving in the Australian Military and at a University in the Australian Capital Territory, Michael has also presented to a number of national and international conferences and was the Key Note Speaker at a conference in Las Vegas in 2005.
Michael is now a lecturer and trainer for The Australian Academy of Hypnosis™ and the Editor of the monthly Mind Motivations & The Academy E-Newsletter. Michael firmly believes that hypnosis and hypnotherapy are very powerful tools that can assist a great range of people with many issues and can provide permanent changes for total life improvement. Coupling his hypnosis experiences with his very strong education, lecture and presentation background provides him with the opportunity to spread hypnosis and hypnotherapy expertise to a wider range of practitioners and therefore assist more people. Michael & Rick conduct training for the Power Hypnosis Training and the academies upcoming “Hypnosis Field Therapy™” in Victoria New South Wales and Queensland.
Our trainers and associate lecturers have a collective experience of more than fifty years in all modalities of Hypnosis, Clinical Hypnotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming.
The Australian Academy of Hypnosis™ - training tutorials are formatted and presented to effectively instruct students in all significant aspects of Ericksonian, Authoritative and Eastern Hypnosis and also in the practical application, the academic instruction and the historical perspectives.
All required training materials, including the Academies own In Clinic Instructional Video, Textbooks and Workbooks are supplied and included in our low cost tuition fees.
Upon satisfactory completion of the required study, all students are awarded a Certificate of Hypnosis, a Certificate of Advanced Hypnosis, a certificate of Power Hypnosis, or a Master Practitioner Certificate in our upcoming “Hypnosis Field Therapy™” as defined by The Academy as our satisfaction of a student having met all of the requirements and successful completion of all examinations and self assessments as required by The Australian Academy of Hypnosis™.
